Anyone got one, tried one, loves one, hates one? Is it going to change the world, the internet, or simply a small back room in a house in Dover Street, Lower Finchley?

I haven't got one, but from what I've read it seems very much to be early adopters that have got one thus far. Whether it will cross over into the mainstream I'm not so sure, but there are other manufacturers releasing tablets so you never know.

I haven't got one. I don't tend to be one of the first adopters of this kind of stuff as you invariably pay a premium to be one. It's better IMO to hold fire, assess the consensus of opinion, wait for prices to drop a little, and then buy.

They had an article in the Economist this week about tablet computing in general, with the suggestion being that to hit the mainstream they need to cost around $100. I think the iPad is nearer to $500 at the moment.

I guess you will always get a premium price for Apple products but it'll be interesting to see what other suppliers can bring to market.
