I received an email today from a company I'm affiliated with, and noticed the strapline under their logo.

The strapline is:

"It's got our name on it!"

Eh? Have you guessed what it is yet? I could come out with some and you'd get them straight away. "Never knowingly undersold." Yep. John Lewis.

But I don't think you'll ever guess who said "It's got our name on it!". OK, it's Wickes (the sort of poor man's version of B&Q) LOL!

But, why? What kind of marketing guru came up with that one? Confused

I can remember not buying stuff from Wickes because it was branded.

It would make the house seem 'low rent' when seleing. That said I think they have been steadily improving their brand image over the years.

I had heard the slogan but couldn't easily place it. I think some people would be able to because it's been on TV ads here in the UK, IIRC.

I guess any slogan - if it's repeated enough - has the potential to work, however rubbish it might be.
