I see Ed Balls is pushing for a cut in the rate of VAT today, as part of a 5 point plan to kickstart the UK economy.
Frankly, I don't care whether it's 15%, 17.5% or 20%... but what I would like to see is it remain fixed. It is a complete pain the backside to have the rate repeatedly change. Anyone with me on this? _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering

They should have a flat rate of income tax as well. Would make things significantly easier. _________________ My social media blog |

20% isn't out of line with Europe
I'd keep it as it is until we're out of this mess
I also can't believe Labour and showing their reckless tendencies
Every time they're kicked out of Government we are in a financial mess through overspending _________________ e-FM network | Get Above The Fold | Physiobench |

Paul is so right. It doesn't matter what it is, it should remain fixed.
The changes they've made are not significant enough to change consumer spending patterns.
Personally I like 20% because it is easier to calculate than when it was 17.5%. |
