This is exactly what I was going to ask now. As of right now, this animation has 13 frames. If I increase the number of frames to, say, uh, 25 frames, is it going to make a nice smooth animation?
Also ... if I make this same animation in Flash, is going to make it smoother? What I mean to ask is this. Does using Flash simply make animations smoother than animated gif animations? _________________ Online Education :: Training Forum

The more frames, then the smoother the animation... as I understand it. But also of course, the bigger the file and the greater the load time.

Doing it in Flash will make it smoother, yes. You can make much smoother animations with Flash, for far less file space. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering

Flash will be smoother and it does not take that long to load up.
The problem with flash is "Can the viewer see it"
If they don't have a plugin installed they will have to download it.
In all honesty your animation looks good, its pretty smooth. _________________ www.conceptstore.co.uk

Why is that? Is this because Flash has a better compression algorithm? _________________ Online Education :: Training Forum

In general the Flash publishing settings can be altered so you can adjust the downloading time by adjusting the quality. Flash loads pretty quickly due to these settings and the fact that it is vector based means it can load faster.
It also has a test settings to see how long it will take to download.
Goto file> publish preview>flash
When the projector pops up with your work their is a setting in the top menu bar of the projection screen called (something like) download speed. You can choose which type of connection to test (modem, ADSL etc) and it simulates a download with stats and logs of the download. _________________ www.conceptstore.co.uk

If you're creating animations like this using Flash only, then I can understand how and why Flash can create very very small files, but if I'm just creating a bunch of frames AND using Flash to display these frames to create an animation, Flash can't necessarily create a very very small file, can it ...??? _________________ Online Education :: Training Forum

Actually, that's a very good question. I think people too often see what you can do with things like animation, and try to apply it, rather than actually stop to consider whether it truly adds something.

i'd say it's been made in flash but exported as a gif to make it simpler it looks like two motion tweens one on the text and then one with a mask flipping a radial tranceparancy to make it look 3D, so id' say the text is just inverting. |

Yeah, you don't get any 3D 'side on' view of anything so it just looks like its shrinking along the horizontal axis & then growing again... _________________ http://aospkc.co.uk |
