Just curious... our blog entries typically get anything from a few retweets to occasionally 30 or more.

The other day I was quite astounded when one blog post managed to amass 163 re-tweets. Here is the post in question:

http://www.ukseries.com/blog/2010/11/this-week-is-british-sausage-week/

I find there is no predicting sometimes what will and won't work when it comes to being retweeted on Twitter. I think a great deal can depend on who does the re-tweeting...

What's your take on it all? Have you had any similar RT successes?

I rmember the sausage week ones...
tbh I cant remember my most re-tweeted tweet, it wasnt as much as yours tho but they do tend to get shared more if its an event.

just off the top of my head id say the key to retweets would be:
funny,
local or specific to a user group,
informative about a trending topic,
uses a hashtag for a trending topic,

im sure this doesnt always apply but most of my retweets tend to be in thesee categories

That's a good number of RT's Paul. How many followers of the UKSeries feed now?

So, in the scale of things, I suppose it isn't all that impressive...

That's an impressive number of followers though. Are you still getting good growth?

Well, we took a setback on those sites last year with a Google penalty as you know... we're clawing things back and looking forward to a strong 2011. The tourism industry (unless you're in skiing on winter sun) takes a dip around now, typically, but bookings should pick up in January and we ought to be in a stronger position than this time last year.

As for being a healthy number of followers... I have around double that number following @luxury__travel Wink
