I've been using Server Matrix/The Planet, but the service is losing its quality, and I'm afraid that I cannot depend on their monitoring system. More specifically, I cannot (should not) depend on their Http monitoring service, but I need one.

Q1. Is there any free Http monitoring service that checks http every 5 minutes or so?

Q1.2. Is there any cheap and reliable Http monitoring service that checks http every 5 minutes or so?

What administration service package do you have? Silver, gold, platinum?

Gold and Silver.

All my servers have HTTP monitoring configured as well as various other ports and ping, and 99% of the time the system works perfectly.

If you believe it's a problem with their system, use something like siteuptime.com as independent verification and also run a local cron to test HTTP connectivity, then open a ticket with them if your results are conclusive Smile

From your other thread it seems you have other problems with your setup. For one thing, Tomact & Apache support is sketchy at best with cPanel/Plesk, though it works alright for me at very low usage. Occasionally Tomcat goes a bit bonkers though.

If you really need JSP support I'd suggest running a separate server on another IP, ie, not interfering with the main Apache setup Smile

We actually use Hyper Spin - and have been extremely happy with their services.

I just started using siteuptime.com.

How do I monitor HTTP from my own server? Do I write a shell script? If so, how do I write this script?
